Advent Calendar - Day 22: Eco-Friendly Gift Wrapping

wrap your gifts in an eco-friendly way

.
Perhaps you've already thought about it?

The effect of beautifully wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree is magnificent but so fleeting.
Buying paper, ribbons, labels... requires organization, a certain budget and a lot of time to pack the parcels.

The children, in their eagerness, will tear up the pretty paper, the adults will throw it away to tidy up the joyful mess.

Christmas leads to overconsumption, why not limit packaging?

According to Citeo, a mission-driven company specializing in packaging recycling, 20,000 tons of gift wrap are thrown away every year at Christmas.

Avoid glittery and plastic-coated models as they are impossible to recycle.

Japanese-style wrapping, or Furoshiki, is becoming increasingly popular.
All you need are scraps of fabric to wrap any object.
They can also be found in shops, especially online.
We are betting on their strong development in the future, like washable and reusable wipes.

With a clever use of knots, it's very easy to make, pretty and much faster than cutting paper and tape.

It is also possible to keep papers throughout the year to reuse them as packaging later.

The bags that we receive to pack certain items like shoes, pajamas, etc., are also extremely practical.

To embellish it all, a small fir branch, a sprig of dried flowers, and that's it!
You will make at least as much of an impression as with gift wrap, even chic wrapping paper, and traditional ribbon.

What do you think?

Have you ever tried this packaging method?
