THE LOVE CAKE

In the style of Catherine Deneuve in Jacques Demi's film Donkey Skin, we offer you a delicious cake recipe created by Cécile. As beautiful as it is delicious, made with seasonal, organic ingredients for an impressive result!

Ingredients:
- 100g of organic unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
- 200g of organic cane sugar
- 2 organic eggs
- 1 organic blood orange (juice and zest)
- 60 ml of milk
- 200g of organic flour
- 1/2 packet of phosphate-free yeast
- For the icing: 250g of icing sugar and the juice of one blood orange, one pomegranate

Preparation:
Turn the oven on to 180°
In a bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until you obtain a smooth mixture.
Add the eggs one at a time, along with the juice and zest of the blood orange and the milk. Mix the batter well and gradually add the sifted flour and baking powder. Line and fill individual muffin tins three-quarters full.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed, golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow to cool for 20 minutes and prepare the icing by squeezing an orange and adding this juice to 250g of icing sugar.
Mix well until you obtain a smooth pink batter. Cover each muffin with icing and add pomegranate seeds if desired (or rosemary flowers if they are in bloom where you live!).
Treat yourself to these pretty pink cakes, all organic and seasonal!
