Good morning !
Today, a Kundalini Yoga teacher is writing to share some simple poses to try alone or with your family! Whether you're looking for relaxation or energy, we hope you find what you're looking for. Grab your mats!
Provide each person with a mat (or a folded blanket), a quiet place, and about twenty minutes. Enjoy your workout!
1 – Let's warm up!
We always start with some warm-up exercises.
What could be more fun than putting on some music and dancing like crazy? In every direction, moving every part of your body!
Choose an upbeat song: kick your legs, swing your arms, shake your hands… Listen to your body and let it move to the rhythm. No one can see you!
2 – Child's Pose (Balasana)
If your children are a little overexcited after dancing, no worries: Balasana is perfect for getting back to calm.
Instructions :
-
Sit on your knees, heels under your buttocks.
-
Inhale and raise your arms above your head.
-
Exhale and lean forward.
-
Open your legs slightly to allow your torso to pass through.
-
Place your hands flat in front of you or wrap your arms around your legs.
-
Hold the posture for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
3 – Parivrtta Janu Sirsasana
When you are ready, get comfortable for this side stretching posture.
Instructions :
-
Sit down with your legs stretched out in front of you.
-
Inhale and bend your right (or left) leg. Bring your foot up against your knee if possible, otherwise lower (to your calf).
-
Exhale.
-
Inhale and raise both arms, straight above your head.
-
Exhale and lean towards the side of the extended leg.
-
Remain in the posture for a few breaths.
-
Inhale to straighten up, then do the other side.
4 – Final relaxation
Sit cross-legged with your hands on your knees.
You can also lie on your back, under a blanket for added comfort.
Put on some relaxing music (like the Ardas Bhaee mantra, which is particularly soothing in Kundalini Yoga). This mantra symbolically helps you through difficult situations and meet your basic needs. Perfect for the Christmas season, isn't it?
Don't hesitate to sing: the effect will be even stronger.
Enjoy your yoga, and see you tomorrow!
Reminder: We cannot see you during practice. Therefore, we cannot correct your posture. Practice with caution. If you experience pain or discomfort, stop immediately.
