Costa Brava, the summer 2019 collection

Costa Brava...

COSTA BRAVA these 2 simple but melodious words inspired the summer 2019 collection.

The Costa Brava, a small region of Spain along the coast between the French border (just after the Pyrenees) and the small town of Blanes north of Barcelona, also extends inland as far as Girona in particular.

I have had the opportunity to go there very often, between family holidays (with little ones it is an ideal destination, a change of scenery and close to France), our stay in Barcelona for 5 years, then visits to the workshop located in the heart of this region, in charge of production for 3 years.

Each of my stays there provides me with the same source of wonder and plunges me into a rapture that I wanted to convey through each of the garments in the summer collection.

The Costa Brava has remained unchanged in its beauty.

The greens and blues are dazzling year-round, the climate is exceptionally mild, the cuisine prioritizes seafood, and the flowers bloom in abundance regardless of the season. The white facades of the fishing villages stand right on the water's edge, and the views from the coastal paths are simply breathtaking. Light reflects off the sea in endless mirror-like effects, and seagulls soar gracefully in the breeze. The shadows cast by the palm fronds create unique patterns on the ground.

Art is intimately intertwined with nature; the influence of great artists like Dali is particularly strong. Gaudí is never far away either!

Ceramics draw on the land, as the Costa Brava knows how to reconcile sea and land. The motifs found on the tableware or ceramic objects evoke both this exuberant nature through the cheerfulness of its colors and art through its geometric patterns.

Green , different shades of blue , whites... are omnipresent in the collection, faithfully reflecting the impressions that greet the visitor to the Costa Brava.

The color pink evokes the terracotta of flower pots, roof tiles, and certain very particular rocks plunging steeply into the sea.

The deep Cactus green plays off the blues of the jasmine print ; the thick green canvas perfectly complements the delicacy of the Jasmine voile, like the contrast between medieval villages located amidst rough farmland and the lightness of the foam of waves rolling in the wind.

The delicate flowers of the Botanical Garden print play with the delicate stripes of the Transat canvas .

The ruffles, very present again this year in the collection, evoke the lapping of water and highlight tanned little backs.

Styles like the Pirate shirts or the Moussaillon shorts evoke the fishermen of the coast. Even little girls can enjoy a sailor collar with the Xénia blouse!

The Figueras blouse, the Dali and Calella dresses, the Bravo bloomer or the Costa top take children directly to the colorful fishing boats of the villages to admire this beautiful coast from the sea, lulled by the rolling of the waves and the song of the seagulls.

The collection photoshoots took place there, in the heart of this splendid coastline, and this unique setting enhanced the clothes. The children had a lot of fun and naturally played in the sea (it was hot!).

I'll let you discover the collection and hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it for you.
