At RISU.RISU, we search for the best possible fabrics!
This of course implies fabrics made of pure organic cotton and dyed ecologically according to the standard, but also materials with a nice drape, a pleasant feel, a unique texture.
Using quality fabrics for our clothes makes them much more comfortable for our children to wear, in terms of softness and flexibility, but also more durable. We're not talking about putting the clothes away after just a few washes; we're talking about clothes that last at least one or two years before being passed on to another child.
It's not easy to reconcile our technical requirements with organic farming; the choice is still extremely limited.
This quest for the best and organic is the foundation of RISU.RISU; if we cannot find the fabric, we simply give up on producing it (for example, no plumetis, which is not available in organic form and is only made in China, or Liberty, which is so fashionable).
The fabric component of the cost price of a RISU.RISU garment is high, higher than if we used conventional cotton... The quality is truly unique and we can still only purchase fairly limited quantities, hence the high purchase cost per meter.
In a garment made from high-quality organic cotton, a large part of the cost comes from the fabric; when it is made in France, the fabric's share of the final price of the garment is greater than that of the manufacturing!
When we discover a small company that manufactures certified organic products in France, we test and approve their fabrics and promise ourselves we will use them again!

You took over a small, high-quality manufacturing company in France; why the choice to offer organic products?
.
- Over 10 years ago, Pastels made the decision to focus on ethical and organic products. This approach allows us to highlight a high-quality French supply chain, respect our environment, and also be a responsible player for our customers, who are demanding these types of products. At the time, it was a somewhat visionary and innovative choice, allowing us to stand out.
.
Why choose to produce in France? Advantages/disadvantages
.
-Firstly, to control the production cycle and ensure consistent quality. Secondly, to improve responsiveness and creativity. Advantages: Proximity, responsiveness, creativity, partnerships. // Disadvantages: Perceived a priori as more expensive, which is not necessarily the case.
.
Are you noticing a growing interest in organic fabrics?
.
-Obviously. It's a demand that's increasingly present in the majority of companies today.
.
.
Why choose to have it certified by [the relevant authority]?
.
- For the sake of transparency with our clients, but also as a guarantee of quality and ethics. It is also an assurance for us that we use certified quality materials.
.
What will be your challenge for the coming months/years?
.
- Continue to be as creative as ever and offer a collection that is ever closer to our customers; responsiveness and closeness to customer projects and needs, loyalty of our French customer base first, then European (and global), increasing our reputation and image.

You have seen the image of the fabric used this summer: this light taupe striped canvas is simply amazing!
We invite you to discover the pieces made with this "stripes" fabric, to touch them with your fingertips to appreciate their softness and quality.
Bravo and thank you to Pastels for their commitment to offering entirely French, organic and high-quality fabrics!
