I wish you and your families a wonderful 2020 filled with peace and joy ✨
Before closing the book on 2019, we wanted to present this little retrospective of the year, which was rich for risu risu in success and loyalty to our commitments as an eco-responsible children's fashion brand.
.
Risu risu’s eco-responsible commitments
.
1- For the 3rd consecutive year, 100% of the fabrics used for the production of the collections are 100% certified organic cotton, the strictest label regulating organic fibers and recognized internationally.
For Risu Risu, this means not only using organic cotton but also dyeing according to these standards, something very few brands offer, and it is this dye that comes into close contact with our children's skin.
To be exact, only the 2 floral prints from this winter (Covent Garden and Bagatelle) were not Oeko tex (we bought them already finished from our supplier), printed on support.
.
2- All manufacturing is entrusted to 2 small workshops located less than 1000 km from Paris, in Spain (Barcelona and Girona); production is transported by truck
3- Shipping your orders is completely plastic-free, as even the tape is made of paper, and all the cardboard boxes we receive are collected and reused for shipping packages.
.
4- Our fabric suppliers are French, German, and Spanish. The exclusive Risu Risu jersey fabric is knitted and dyed in Portugal. The dyeing of small pieces of fabric used for prototypes is done in France.
.
5- All buttons are made of mother-of-pearl or wood; we avoid zippers.
.
.
risu risu's successes in 2019

.
1- First Christmas capsule
Mostly made from leftover fabrics, this collection included a Christmas dress in soft jersey and muslin with a lace collar, a larch jersey nightgown with mother-of-pearl buttons, carmine red cardigans, and bow barrettes to complete the pretty outfits.
.

.
2- First no waste (zero waste) capsule
The small scraps are transformed into scrunchies and barrettes, the leftover gauze into much-appreciated handkerchiefs, the floral fabric ends up as bloomers, the ecru jersey gives rise to bags to slip packs of underwear into.
.

The small packs of extra soft tissues are a huge success!
.
.
3- First collaboration with Astrid Lecornu
Astrid designed for risu risu little bouquets bursting from the pockets of little girls' cardigans, sprigs of snowdrops hanging from buttonholes and mischievous little ladybugs running from twig to twig... obviously the children love it, and so do we!
.
.
4- Size development 12 years
To meet growing demand, the 12-year-old size was created on virtually all models, and baby sizes were continued up to 3 years; all sizes were thus reviewed for greater consistency.
.
.
5- Sending small pieces of fabric upon request: even the smallest scrap of fabric is used.
.
.
Some key events
.
1- 5 photo shoots
As the collections grew, the need for visuals was crucial for an online store and to feed Instagram, so we had to organize 5 photoshoots.
An eco-friendly brand particularly likes to showcase its models in contact with nature; sometimes it's difficult to have optimal weather conditions!
We were able to organize some extraordinary photoshoots thanks to the support of Camille Boillot (CamilleVGB on Instagram) who opened her lovely all-wood house to us for the summer 2020 collection.

2- Pop-up shops in Paris and London to meet our clients
With Babyccino in December in London, The Reunion in May and November in Paris, presence in various pop ups such as I Live Bio, avenue Victor Hugo then rue de Sèvres in Paris, sale of the committed collective.
We love meeting our clients and reconnecting with loyal customers. Watching your children grow up is wonderful!
