RISU.RISU French jersey

We are always looking for the most beautiful materials for the making of RISU.RISU children's clothes in the logic of a Hugh end brand which tries to combine comfort with ecology.

Until now, the top of the range brands were generally looking for quality fabrics and careful finishing, RISU.RISU adds to this criteria of ecology, comfort is not enough today to be a brand worthy of being in a maximum of children's changing rooms.

1. The selection criteria of RISU. RISU

.

- 100% organic cotton

We are looking for pure cotton, no polyamide or polyester It is better for the child's comfort, no excessive sweating It is essential to preserve the environment, polyamide is a petrochemical material, the garment containing it will never be biodegradable and will release plastic microballs into the water each time it is washed We are looking for certified organic cotton because it has been cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and it is not GMO: This is the minimum for the environment and the health of the workers in the cotton fields

- Certified by a label

Cotton comes from far away... only the official certification of a label ensures that the cotton is really organic; trusting your supplier is not enough

- Short circuit

The closer the fabric is made to our workshop in Spain, the better.

Buying a fabric from a Spanish supplier (Italian, French...) doesn't mean anything; we always ask our suppliers where the fabric is made and then finished.

- Controlled finishing of the fabric

Once the fabric has been made, it needs to be dyed, made soft, prevented from shrinking, waterproofed... This is called finishing and it is here that toxic substances are added the most, without the consumer being provided with any information (the legal vacuum is total).

We require our suppliers to be -certified for this part of the manufacture of our fabrics. The certification is thus on the finished fabric, and that changes EVERYTHING.

- upcycling

We try to finish the fabrics of our collections down to the last metre (we like hair bows !), we create small capsules in the years following the production of the collection.

We have recently started to recover the ends of left over fabric rolls in our workshop in Girona.

2- RISU.RISU exclusive jersey

Since the creation of the brand, it was obvious that we were going to propose a range of underwear and nightwear for children, the first garment in contact with the skin. It was therefore logical to find a jersey worthy of the name.

The first RISU.RISU collections used simple French jersey and at the time, there was no dyer who dyed ecologically according to the rules of the label. We then went to Portugal to look for our jersey, it became iconic for the brand with its squirrel piqué and soft feel and we were able to offer an ecological dye. Then we discovered a French supplier near Roanne who was able to make our jersey, close by, organic and certified on the finished fabric (RISU.RISU was one of the first brands to benefit from the ecological dyeing for its jersey).

Obviously, this exceptional quality comes at a cost, a cost that as a committed brand we do not fully pass on in the selling price of our clothes. Consumers have voted in favour of this unusual jersey, with its exceptional feel and impeccable fit. The comfort, the softness, the fluffiness of RISU.RISU jersey clothes are simply unique.

3- RISU.RISU fleece

Logically, like jersey, we have continued to produce what is called in professional jargon "knitwear" in France. The fleece, also made at the same French supplier near Roanne, is ultra soft, made of pure organic cotton and certified on the finished fabric (so, if you have followed this far, dyed in a way that respects health and the environment).

This unique fleece is found in RISU.RISU's baby trousers and jackets as well as in RISU.RISU's sweatshirts and dressing gowns (our famous Cocoon jackets). Quite thick, this fleece is quite expensive, and here again, we have taken the gamble of not passing on its price in the selling price of the garment as we should; this is our DNA as a committed brand.

Here again, trying it means adopting it forever!

Do not hesitate to check the labels of the clothes, you will be surprised... whatever the price level of the garment, we sometimes find mixed cotton, including for babies (profitability when you hold us!)

Conclusion

RISU.RISU clothes are the most pleasant to wear. Their touch is easily recognizable, so much so that children ask their parents to buy them some
